About the image
This portrait of Prince was taken backstage in one of the long hallways used to store equipment on the way to the green rooms. It was used as the basis for the "Influence Wall" mural outside of Studio A in Paisley Park, which in tandem inspired the cover for the 2009 album Lotus Flow3r. The mural, created by designer Sam Jennings in 2007, was made from a heavily stylized version of this image which had various influences and those Prince had influenced included in the background.
