So much can be expressed in the eyes of the women we love. Here, Alberto Vargas has captured all the unspoken affection of his favorite model: his wife, Anna Mae. With this portrait, Vargas eternalized the memory of his beloved; a lovely - and loving - portrait of the beauty he married. 

Originally published in the Esquire Calendar for December, 1941. The original artwork is part of the permanent collection at the Julia Spencer Museum at the University of Kansas.

Release Notes:
This image was printed on a patented archival paper called Opalesque which has a surface that emulates the look and feel of silk.

This fine art print was published in San Francisco in 1993, in cooperation with the Hearst Corporation/Esquire. It bears the registered trademark "Varga" signature logo applied via silkscreen to the finished work.
