Armando Gallo

Armando Gallo is an Italian photojournalist living in Los Angeles, where he now covers the movie scene. In 1967, while working in London as an architectural designer, he met The Beatles and that started his career as a rock journalist.

He wrote about Genesis for the Italian rock weekly, Ciao 2001, in 1970 and he authored their biography The Evolution of a Rock Band originally published in the UK in 1978. Inspired by the song "DIY" by Peter Gabriel, Armando self published the book in the USA as I Know What I Like under his DIY Books imprint.

Armando directed and produced the U2 video "Even Better than the Real Thing" using mostly still photos. He has been a member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, producers of the Golden Globe Award, for the past 30 years.
