About the image

Frank Zappa in Los Angeles, circa 1968.

"For reasons that were - and still are - unclear to me, several pieces of heavy construction equipment were parked behind the home of Frank Zappa in the Laurel Canyon district of Los Angeles. They became dramatic co-conspirators to a strange and delightfully bizarre series of 1968 portraits for Rolling Stone." - Baron Wolman

Release Notes:
For most of his images, Baron Wolman offered signed limited edition photographs in the several sizes listed below. His black and white photographs were printed as silver gelatins, and his color photographs were C-prints. These were typically printed to order in New Mexico and then numbered, titled, and signed by him.

8"  x 10" Sheet Size, as signed, open editions
11" x 14" Sheet Size, as signed, limited editions of 150
16" x 20" Sheet Size, as signed, limited editions of 150
20" x 24" Sheet Size, as signed, limited editions of 75
30" x 40" Sheet Size, as signed, limited editions of 15

Collector's Notes:
Although he offered several sizes for each photograph, Baron's work was most often produced in the 11" x 14" and 16" x 20" sheet sizes.

When he passed, Baron Wolman left behind an archive of signed photographs that we are now offering in very limited supply for collectors.
