About the image

As chief photographer of then-fledgling Rolling Stone Magazine from 1967-1970, Baron Wolman had the opportunity to document a culture shifting era with extraordinary access to rock's biggest stars. This compelling portrait of legendary Doors frontman Jim Morrison was shot at San Francisco's Winterland Arena in December 1967.

Release Notes:
For most of his images, Baron Wolman offered signed limited edition photographs in the several sizes listed below. His black and white photographs were printed as silver gelatins, and his color photographs were C-prints. These were typically printed to order in New Mexico and then numbered, titled, and signed by him.

When he passed, Baron Wolman left behind an archive of signed photographs that we are now offering in very limited supply for collectors.
