About the image
A hand-colored edition of Jimi Hendrix playing at the Fillmore West in February of 1968, this was his first performance for Bill Graham in San Francisco.
"I don't think that he choreographed his music. I think he was responding to how he felt to the music. He moved around with the guitar and across the stage and with the music in such a way that nobody could have choreographed it." -- Baron Wolman
Release Notes:
This is a special edition of photographic prints made from a piece that was hand-colored with a purple tint in the background to evoke the familiar "purple haze".
