About the image

Jimi Hendrix during a show at the Fillmore West, in 1968, this was his first performance for Bill Graham in San Francisco.

"I don't think that he choreographed his music. I think he was responding to how he felt to the music. He moved around with the guitar and across the stage and with the music in such a way that nobody could have choreographed it." -- Baron Wolman

Release Notes:

His black and white photographs were printed as silver gelatins, and his color photographs were C-prints.
