About the image
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during a speech at Chicago's Soldier Field in August 1966. This was the first large  scale  fair housing campaign in the country and the most ambitious civil rights campaign in the North. King took aim at Mayor Richard J. Daley, whose plan for Chicago included corralling low-income blacks into housing projects.
