On assignment for Creem Magazine, Bob Gruen met up with the Allman Brothers Band on tour and traveled with them on their tourbus through the South. The Creem article was published in November of 1972, called "Deep in the Heart of Dixie". (L-R) Butch Trucks, Gregg Allman, Dicky Betts, Berry Oakley and Jai Johanny Johanson posing in front of their tourbus after a pitstop on the highway.
