About the image
David Bowie in White Sands, New Mexico on the set of the 1976 science fiction film, The Man Who Fell To Earth directed by Nicolas Roeg.

Duffy traveld to New Mexico to shoot Bowie for a feature article in the UK Sunday Times magazine and, because he had to wait until a break in filming, required special tools to capture this rich and dramatic image in very low light.
