About the image
Marilyn Monroe (when she was still Norma Jean) bandages photographer Bruno Bernard's dentist's eye-catching German Shepherd, Rolf in Los Angeles' Griffith Park, circa 1946. This is from "The Discovery Series", Bernard of Hollywood's first sitting with the 19-year-old. The resulting photos were instantly placed for a pharmaceutical advertisement and the young Norma Jean realized she had been upstaged by Rolf. She vowed she would never let anyone steal a scene from her again.

Collector's Note:
This is an Estate Authorized limited edition released in 2012.
The photographs have been signed on behalf of the estate of Bruno Bernard by his daughter Susan Bernard.
