The front cover of Secret World Live , the second live album and tenth overall by Peter Gabriel, released in 1994. The themes of the tour were communication and relationships. The concept for the album cover was to evoke the portion of the Secret World live show where Peter would hold the telephone receiver aloft and arose partly out of Peter's interest in the way sound waves create patterns.
Release Notes:
This print is part of the Peter Gabriel : Album Art Collection, a series of 15 artworks featuring the album cover imagery from each of Peter Gabriel's solo releases from 1977 to 2010. Peter Gabriel produced this series as fine-art limited edition prints in 2010, coordinating with each of the artists who created the original artworks. Each one is signed by both the artist and Peter Gabriel himself and are available in two size options.
”I’ve always loved artwork and album art. I think it’s been a huge part of what people identify and feel about the music and the records” said Peter Gabriel “I used to love gatefold sleeves…when you would sit with a new record and open it up it was just a precious moment. Now we’ve gone into this digital world a lot of that has been lost. We’ve being looking at ways of getting quality prints of the artwork for a long time and I’m happy now it has happened.”
