About the image

Taken during the Stones 1972 American tour. This was a time when Mick had moved into the jet set of high society, along with his new wife Bianca, and the tour quickly became the stuff of legend. Writer Truman Capote covered the events for Rolling Stone magazine and Terry Southern did the same for Saturday Review; photographer Robert Frank even shot a cinema verite documentary about the tour, Cocksucker Blues, although it was never released.
