About the image

Through The Past, Darkly is the second official compilation album by The Rolling Stones, released two months after Brian Jones' departure from the group and subsequent death. The title is a tribute to the 1961 Ingmar Bergman film, Through a Glass Darkly.

This image was used on the back cover of the album, and features the five members, including Jones, peering through broken glass.
