Ginger Gilmour (b. 1949, Philadelphia, USA) is an American-British artist and sculptor whose multidisciplinary practice is defined by a lifelong exploration of beauty and spiritual transcendence. Since relocating from the United States to the United Kingdom in 1971, Gilmour has developed a body of work that bridges the visible and invisible aspects of human experience.
After graduating high school Cum Laude in 1966, she attended Michigan State University to study Chemical Engineering and Art. Her relocation to England in 1971 followed her meeting David Gilmour at a Pink Floyd concert in Ann Arbor, Michigan; upon his invitation to join him, she moved to London and subsequently married him in 1975. They had four children together.
Her formal artistic development was defined by an eight-year apprenticeship beginning in the early 1980s under the visionary artist Cecil Collins. She studied life drawing, focusing on the "Art of Perception". This training was furthered by Rudolf Steiner Sculpture studies in West Hoathly and eight years of practicing and teaching Mental Colour Therapy alongside Lily Cornford in the UK, Switzerland, and the United States. Additionally, her work is informed by extensive study in analytical psychology with Gerhard Adler.
Throughout her career, Gilmour has been commissioned for significant public and private works, most notably the 11-foot sculpture "Flame of the Spirit," which was selected for exhibition at London Heathrow Terminal 5 from 2010 to 2012 celebrating the Olympic Games. Her exhibition history includes shows at the Mall Galleries, the German Embassy in London, and Arundel Castle.
In 2015, she published her autobiography, Memoirs of the Bright Side of the Moon, detailing her life at the center of the rock world and her independent creative evolution.
Gilmour currently maintains her studio in a 15th-century farmhouse in West Sussex, where she continues to create work as a "Messenger of Beauty". A solo exhibition of her work is scheduled for the Venetian Casino Resort in Las Vegas in October 2026.
