About the image
A montage of the two Kodalith images that were used on the front and back covers of "BB King Live in Japan, 1971," a double LP recorded live at Sankei Hall, Tokyo, in March, 1971. Prior to the reissue released in 1999, this record was available only in Japan.

The two images feature BB King in an orange jacket during a performance at the LA Forum. Captured as he opened for the Rolling Stones during their legendary 1969 US Tour, they each played two shows at the Forum on November 8, 1969.

These images were shot using Kodak Kodalith Film, a high contrast material frequently used in Graphic Arts which was one of Glen Craig's strengths both in school and professionally.

Release Notes:
This piece is part of Glen Craig's Montage Collection. Glen studied graphic design in school and always maintained that approach to his work both while shooting and later, when reviewing the results. Occasionally a sequence of images stands out because the combination captures something quintessential about the subject, infers action, or the passage of time, among other things. These pieces have been carefully composed and represent a unique take on his photographic works.
