About the image

Base player Eddie Jones was one of my favorite players, a real gentlemen who anchored the Count Basie band for seven years.

He was a Howard University graduate and vice president of a major insurance company. When he retired he came back to the music. This image was made in 1960, New York City. -- Herb Snitzer
