Thelonious Monk, Piano Keys, United Nations, NYC, 1959

This photograph was made at the United Nations while Monk was playing to a very appreciative audience of Ambassadors and other distinguished persons. Out of respect to the United Nations, Monk took off his trademark hat.  The keys to the piano are reflected in his dark glasses.
