South African President Nelson Mandela greets friends and colleagues on the occasion of the opening of the third session of the Democratic Parliament. This was taken on February 9, 1996 in Cape Town. Among the group is Frederik Willem de Klerk, who, along with Mandela, helped engineer the end of apartheid.
