Nelson Mandela delivers a speech after he and F.W. de Klerk were jointly awarded the Philadelphia Liberty Medal on July 4, 1993.

The annual award is administered by the National Constitution Center to recognize leadership in the pursuit of freedom. It was presented to him by then-President Bill Clinton.
