Legendary guitarist Dickey Betts sits backstage before a show at the famous Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco in 1972.
The Allman Brothers Band played 90 shows in 1972 in support of their Eat A Peach record, though they all deeply felt the loss of Duane. Butch Trucks explained, "We were playing for him and that was the way to be closest to him." During the tour, Gregg Allman and Berry Oakley took turns introducing songs, which was traditionally Duane's role and Dickey Betts learned his slide guitar parts, but with his own spin.
