Gregg Allman playing the piano during a San Francisco performance in 1972. Jim Marshall photographed Gregg in a spotlight which caused a lens flare that a created a magnificent circular aura around him.
Jim Marshall again photographed the band as they toured to support Eat a Peach, their follow up to At Fillmore East. This record was a massive success and continued the growth and fame of the band. Biographer Alan Paul notes that the band's members "all profoundly felt the absence of their guiding light" during the touring cycle for Eat a Peach. Dickey Betts convinced the band members to tour but they did not replace Duane Allman, instead continuing as a five-piece.
