About the image

Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash perform at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium, then home of the Grand Ole Opry, during the first episode of The Johnny Cash Show.

In February of 1969, Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash got together and recorded a number of songs, one of which ended up on Dylan’s Nashville Skyline.  The rest were later released as The Dylan Cash Session for which a black & white image, similar to this one, was used on the cover, and are considered an excellent example of their chemistry.  The record was released in 1975.
