Jim Marshall captured Linda Rondstadt’s first appearance on the Johnny Cash Show on June 21, 1969. She was only 23 years old and had recently left the Stone Poneys to become a solo artist. She released her first solo album one month before her appearance with Johnny Cash, and recorded her second album entirely in Nashville in the months following.
Linda has been called the most successful female singer of the 1970s due to her many hits and hugely popular live performances. She toured with many legendary acts including The Doors, Neil Young, The Eagles, Jackson Browne & others.
Johnny and June Carter Cash personally requested Jim Marshall to capture stills for The Johnny Cash Show.
