About the image
Ozzy Osbourne, with his first name tattooed on his left hand, poses for this 1974 shot while still a member of heavy-metal legends Black Sabbath. Known for their simple, heavy, dark riffs, Black Sabbath had just released their classic album, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, considered their most progressive and creative work yet. Ozzy would go on to success as a solo artist in the 1980s, and then later as a reality star for his MTV show, The Osbournes.
