The Jacksons Series, Riot on Haight St, San Francisco 1975
By Pat Johnson
About the image
"There was an autograph signing at Jack's Records on Haight St. There were thousands of young kids waiting to see Michael and the boys. At one point the crowding was so intense, that the people in front were pushed through the huge plate glass windows. One second I am standing at the window taking pictures and the next thing I know, all these kids come crashing through. It was horrible. I have pictures that would have made front page of all the Bay Area papers, stories everywhere, but I didn't want to do that to Michael and Epic, so I put the film in my pocket and never released them. I may have lost some money and notoriety, but I kept my integrity. The sadness on Michaels face afterwards showed me that he has a terrible existence. Never normal, a superstar since he was five years old. I felt sorry for him. " -Pat Johnson
