About the image

Eric Clapton was asked to perform at the now legendary Last Waltz, The Band's final concert performance, held at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco, 1976.  Pattie and Eric arrived a few days early for rehearsals, her first visit to the Bay Area since she and George visited Golden Gate park and were overwhelmed by fans.
