Tales From Topographic Oceans II, 2009

Painting
By Roger Dean
About the image
Roger Dean painted the original Tales from Topographic image following a visit to Japan in 1973, after being inspired by the patterns in the landscape.  A very “geomantic” vision, each of the rocks has a symbolic significance, and most are actual rocks found around the world.

In 2009 Roger was thrilled to recreate his now 35+ year-old painting for a new box set release. After so many years of experience and further development of his skill, he welcomed the opportunity to re-imagine this incredible terrain with the added wisdom of these years.

This painting was used as the cover image for a very limited edition special CD boxed set release created in Japan.
