About the image

Robert Johnson is perhaps the most famous of the Delta Blues musicians. His work influenced nearly all of the rock 'n' roll musicians that came out of the 1960s. This portrait is based off of one of the only known photographs of Robert Johnson, who, legend has it, sold his soul to the Devil at a crossroads in order to play so well he became successful.

The Jazz & Blues Suite:
This is one of four prints in a series which features Duke Ellington, Howlin' Wolf, Miles Davis and Robert Johnson.
