Civil rights workers walk past a crowd of onlookers during the last of the three Selma-to-Montgomery marches in the spring of 1965.
What's striking, among other things, is the juxtaposition of the lone flag in the center of the frame and the fact that the crowd consists of multiple generations of American citizens, all united in their peaceful desire for equality.
