About the image
This Polaroid artwork by Storm Thorgerson was completed in preparation for the third eponymous Peter Gabriel album, commonly referred to as Melt. Storm and Peter began experimenting with hundreds of Polaroids, having fun squashing and squeezing and smearing the developing images, a technique later known as Krimsography. These are many of the results Storm compiled by hand.

Release Notes:
This print is part of the Peter Gabriel : Album Art Collection, a series of 15 artworks featuring the album cover imagery from each of Peter Gabriel's solo releases from 1977 to 2010. Peter Gabriel produced this series as fine-art limited edition prints in 2010, coordinating with each of the artists who created the original artworks. Each one is signed by both the artist and Peter Gabriel himself and are available in two size options.

”I’ve always loved artwork and album art. I think it’s been a huge part of what people identify and feel about the music and the records” said Peter Gabriel “I used to love gatefold sleeves…when you would sit with a new record and open it up it was just a precious moment. Now we’ve gone into this digital world a lot of that has been lost. We’ve being looking at ways of getting quality prints of the artwork for a long time and I’m happy now it has happened.”

Collector's Notes:
Both sizes/editions have been hand-signed by both Peter Gabriel & Storm Thorgerson.
