“Ragga explained that their esoteric music often painted pictures or told stories and this prompted the realization of a long held view about pictures in the head, a view that there is something magical about pictures in the head, something mystical even about how a word like ‘ship’ could conjure an image of a ship, masts and sails wind and sea and so forth in one’s head, though the word is either just a simple sound, or marks on a piece of paper.
