“We are not often prone to romanticism or sentiment but hey, there are times. ’You And Me’ was a simple love song and something romantic and lyrical was called for. We had been pursuing melting images for some time and in addition flamingos had been a possible subject matter but we had been unable to fuse these thoughts successfully until this moment. Somewhere in my memory banks there is a trigger of Valentine’s Day, represented by a heart, which then involved dripping flamingos who were so deeply in love that they were melting together, in a heart shape. This seemed an appropriately romantic image for this romantic song, but without being too much of a cliché.” - Storm Thorgerson
