Taken on assignment for Sports Illustrated on March 21, 1964, Carroll Shelby was recovering from surgery on his knee but couldn't contain his excitement at the results of the first Shelby Cobra GTs racing in the 12-Hour Race at Sebring against rivals Ferrari.
