About the image
"Cream was appearing on Top of the Pops, a British TV show, which went out live every Thursday evening. The artists were usually miming to a backing track and Cream was miming “Strange Brew.” I asked Eric, who was sporting an afro hairdo, if we could shoot a few pictures and the only place with any window light was this small stairwell. I got a roll of him with the Gibson guitar that “The Fool” had painted for him. Many years later Eric auctioned off this and many other guitars for his Crossroads charity."
