This composite was created at the request of Led Zeppelin for a book, and features a unique crop from the original photograph, and includes their feet. It is the result of two photographs spliced together to form one image.
Bob Gruen was hired to photograph Led Zeppelin for their performance in Pittsburgh, PA later that evening. When he arrived at the small private airport Robert Plant asked him to take a picture of the band in front of their plane. This is one of the first photographs he ever shot of the band and it is one of the most famous images in rock 'n' roll.
