About the image
Taken during the same photo-session as the "Standing Nude" series, this image quickly became a popular large-format poster published by Berkeley Bonaparte, the legendary poster company formed by Bob and several other San Francisco artists among them Rick Griffin and Stanley Mouse. In fact, photographer Baron Wolman took one of his best-known shots of Janis standing in front of a wall covered in these posters.
