David Bowie, Lodger Original Polaroid, 1979
By Brian Duffy
About the image
David Bowie and Duffy worked out a whole scene for the Lodger cover and it required that Duffy be perched above the set, shooting down so as to capture the proper effect. Duffy built a contraption to lay upon and mount his camera to, and took a test shot, as is typical, with a polaroid to see instantly how the effect was to come across on film. This is a reproduction of that original polaroid from the shoot.
