Neil Young with his Son Zeke, Broken Arrow Ranch, Woodside CA, 1976

In late 1976, I drove up with Ronnie and Krissy Wood, and another friend, Sabrina Guinness, to stay at Neil Young’s ranch at Woodside, near San Francisco. Ronnie and Neil were recording and playing together in Neil’s studio, but one day Neil beckoned me over to show me his vintage car collection kept in this ramshackle outbuilding. There were lots of beautiful Dodges and Cadillacs which he was very proud of. It was one of those beautiful Californian days with blue skies and the wind rustling through the trees. I took this shot when we were walking back to the main house. Neil was looking very contemplative and his son, Zeke, aged about four, was in his own little car. Both were in their own worlds.
