In 1968 Jefferson Airplane bought a mansion at 2400 Fulton St, along the Northeastern edge of Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. It served as their headquarters where they lived, worked, and played (infamously) together as a band.
In 1974, photographer Dennis Anderson arrived early to shoot Grace Slick on assignment for Creem Magazine. In the few moments he had with her prior to the scheduled interview, he mentioned hoping to find some great light and they instinctively walked together toward the large Victorian windows in the front game room. He stood opposite the pool table and was able to take just a few color shots before the writer Lester Bangs arrived, along with a few others, and the quiet mood changed.

Dennis Anderson's photographs of Grace were published in the May, 1974 issue of Creem, with Lester Bangs' article titled "Dada at the End of a Fist - A Champagne Flight with Grace Slick".
