The Doors, The Doors Album Cover, 1967
By Guy Webster
About the image
Jim Morrison dominates the frame while the rest of the Doors sit in the background in this surreal shot from Guy Webster. Formed in 1965, the band took its name from Aldous Huxley's book, The Doors of Perception , which was a reference to a line from a William Blake poem. This image was used on the cover of their debut album.
