Bob Dylan Portrait, Thumb & Eye, NYC, 1965
By Jerry Schatzberg
About the image
When Bob Dylan first visited Jerrold Schatzberg's studio, he walked around rather randomly, picking up objects, things the photographer had used in his commercial projects. Schatzberg was struck by the way Dylan would just invent things on the spot.
"Those photographs were just wonderful, they were very unique and meaningful." - Jerry Schatzberg
