Jerry Garcia offers a toast to Jim Marshall as he works at the Grateful Dead's recording studio in 1977.
Jim Marshall was invited up to the Dead's headquarters on Front Street in San Rafael, CA to get some photographs for a magazine that was doing a cover story on Jerry. Several images of Jerry holding a guitar that came from this same session were subsequently published in various magazines in the late 70s.
During this session Jim shot a total of fourteen frames of Jerry holding a wineglass. One of these was used on the front cover of the iconic Farewell to Winterland bootleg album released in France.
This "alternate" image, one of the fourteen taken that day, is now available, as a one-of-a-kind photograph (one size only).
