Taken in 1977 during a photo-shoot at the Grateful Dead's Front Street headquarters in San Rafael, CA, this wonderful image was later used on a bootleg of one of the Grateful Dead's most famous performances, the closing of Winterland on New Year's Eve 1978-1979. Since the bonafide album wasn't released until much later, avid fans all over the world are familiar with this version from
The Grateful Dead, Farewell to Winterland.
