This photograph was the cover of soul singer Isaac Hayes' 1971 double-album, Black Moses, the follow-up to his successful soundtrack for Shaft . The gatefold album design, depicting Hayes as "the epitome of black masculinity," unfolded into a poster-sized image of the musician dressed in biblical-inspired attire.Black Moses contains Hayes' version of The Jackson 5's hit single, "Never Can Say Goodbye."
