About the image
Klaus Voormann designed this image of John Lennon wearing his iconic glasses with colored lenses for the cover of the magazine Lid in 2007. This piece is based on an earlier drawing he created in 1980.

Artist Klaus Voormann originally met "The Beatles" at the Kaiserkeller Club in Hamburg, Germany. From that first introduction in 1960, Klaus’s friendship with the band grew. Eventually he moved to London at the invitation of George Harrison and Ringo Starr and stayed with them in their apartment while he sought work as a commercial artist. Then, in 1965, he was asked by John Lennon to design the cover of Revolver.
