About the image
A close-up of Paul McCartney smiling in profile whilst holding his guitar. Paul was the first Beatle to leave the ashram in Rishikesh. The Beatles' sense of direction wavered when their manager and mentor, Brian Epstein, unexpectedly died in '67. This is when the group agreed to a three month meditative retreat to India. Once there, the creativity flowed and the band wrote forty eight songs in total. Paul left early as he was excited to get the ball rolling with the new Beatles company, Apple Records.
