Soul music pioneer Ray Charles backstage prior to a performance at San Francisco State on December 5, 1971. Charles was one of the first inductees to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at its inaugural ceremony in 1986.

Robert Altman's photographs were printed in the San Francisco Bay Area to order. The photographs were signed and numbered by him and buyers receive a certificate of authenticity following delivery.
