A beautiful view of the nature of music by Storm.
"They [the band] were not as keen on Picasso in the Sand (rot their hides!). In contrast, I thought this image was my closest representation of music - a piece of art that fades away like a musical note as soon as it is executed - so the piece of art in the sand is a reference to the art of Picasso, sometimes considered the greatest artist of the 20th century. Our sand pictures, like footsteps, are soon to be washed away by the incoming surf and will fade like the decaying sounds of a note of music. The drawings in the sand were made with a stick, and very quickly at that, because they were better made in wet sand, where the sea had just been but was about to come back again. In fact we had to do it several times because what happened was exactly what we thought - the waves came in and washed away our pictures". - Storm Thorgerson
