About the image
The Wall , released in 1979, was the first Pink Floyd album since 1967's The Piper at the Gates of Dawn whose cover was not done by Storm Thorgerson and Hipgnosis. The legendary Gerald Scarfe, who created the animated scenes and developed the overall visual aspects of the film with Roger Waters was commissioned for that project.

However, in 2000, when Pink Floyd released the live version of The Wall made from recordings done in 1980-81, Storm once again was commissioned, coming up with this image of the four Floyd member face masks set against a black wall.

Lambda Release Notes:
In 2008, Storm and SFAE celebrated Pink Floyd's 40th anniversary with an exhibition of signed photographs of images that he had created for the band over the years both as a founding member of the design collective Hipgnosis, and as an independent designer with StormStudios. These photographs were produced as signed, open editions and were only briefly available for sale as they were intended only for the anniversary celebration. Very few of any of these images were produced.
